The Lady Lobos placed third in their pool as well as third overall at the 20-team, 11th annual Gracie Haught Softball Tournament held in Payson last weekend.
Snowflake earned pool play wins over Sunnyslope 12-5 and a solid Camp Verde team 6-5. The Lobos’ only pool play loss was a 7-5 decision to tournament runner-up Tanque Verde.
In bracket play Snowflake went 3-1, picking up wins over Apache Junction 5-1, Show Low 12-0 and Winslow 5-4 in the third place game. The Lobos had their only setback to eventual champion Payson, getting shutout by the Lady Longhorns 8-0 in the semifinal round.
The Lobos headed into spring break with an overall record of 12-6-1. They resume action on Tuesday, March 31, when they host Show Low. On Thursday, April 2, they will host Alchesay and the next day they play Round Valley at Eagar.
