Sherie Schultz, 44, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Funeral services were held April 23 at Greer’s Mortuary Chapel in Winslow, with Pastor Nelson Betoney officiating. Burial followed at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow. She was born into the Redhouse clan, born for Anglo.
Sherie attended Alameda University and received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice.
At the time of her death, she was employed by the Navajo Nation Gaming Regulatory Office as the enforcement manager. She was previously employed with the Program of Self-Reliance (formerly TANF), and wrote a grant that helped gain funding and build the foundation for the Meth and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI). She also worked for the State of Arizona under the Department of Economic Security to help the unemployed.
Survivors include her three children, Reginald Silversmith, Raleigh Silversmith and Jessica Schultz; and her mother, Barbara Chee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Schultz; and her grandfather, Henry K. Chee.
Donations in her honor should be given to the MS Foundation or Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
