A White Mountain Lakes man is in custody after he allegedly started 29 fires over a two-mile path from his home in the 8500 block of Bronco Road.
According to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, several witnesses saw Sammy Roy Williams, 58, start the fires and called 911 while attempting to put out the flames. The fires were contained and Williams was located near his home. He was transported to Summit Health Care in Show for treatment of methamphetamine intoxication.
Sheriff’s officials noted that charges pending against him include arson of a structure, attempted arson of an occupied structure and assault on firefighting personnel.
