Joseph City’s volleyball team entered this week with a 3-3 regular season record and ranked 26th in the Division V power point rankings. The Lady Wildcats split the two matches they played last weekend, losing to Mogollon in four games on Friday, then defeating Fredonia in a five-game match on Saturday.
Last Tuesday the Cats were beaten by Round Valley in three straight games, although two of the three were close. Round Valley prevailed in game one 25-22, cruised in the second game 25-14 then held off a pesky Wildcat team 26-24 in game three.
In that loss, Amanda Baldwin compiled seven kills, served two aces and had one block. Tricia Bay-Morgan helped with two kills. Sadie Tuckfield added a kill and served seven aces. Kaylee Palme had a kill and two blocks. Haley Edwards finished with four kills and a block. Chalet Baldwin helped by serving four aces and also had one block.
After playing at Red Mesa on Tuesday, the Wildcats will host a tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and 3.
