William Callis Eagar, 85, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at his home in Snowflake. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, in Eagar. Interment will follow in the family plot at Eagar.
He was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Eagar to Orson P. (Tobe) and Delila (Lila) Eagar. The town of Eagar was founded by and named for his grandfather.
Cal served as an Army medic in the Korean War. During his career, he worked in transport management, as a truck driver and in construction.
Upon retirement, he moved to Snowflake with his wife Betty Jo, and sons Andrew and Mitchell.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cal was an avid reader, conversant in both LDS church history and Arizona history.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Gisele and son Russell; and his siblings Janie Hobson and Pratt Eagar.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Greer Eagar; his sons, Andrew and Mitchell; his grandson, Kendall Eagar of Snowflake; and his sister, Lucille Westfall of Glendale.
