Josephine Aragon Ballejos, 85, was called to be with Our Lord on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, in comfort of her home. Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock this morning (Nov. 6) at the church, with Father Bob Mathieu as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Desert View Cemetery.
Josephine was born March 19, 1930. She retired from Winslow Memorial Hospital. She was a generous woman who always put others before herself. She enjoyed bingo, and spending time and laughing with her family, including 32 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Tomie (Eloy) Zamora, Pauline Hernandez, Mary Ann Aragon and Sally (Michael) Guzman, all of Winslow, Cathy (Eddie) Cruz, Angelo (Candace) Aragon and Tomas David (Jeanette) Aragon, all of Las Vegas, Nev., Patricia (Damon) Allen of Mesa and Janice (Brad) Childers of Maricopa; three stepdaughters, Vangie Peric of Lakeside, Cathy (Paul) Duran of Casa Grande and Corina Wilson of Show Low; her brothers and sisters, Julian (Helen) Aragon, Nick (Josie) Aragon of Phoenix, Danny (Chistella) Aragon, Cora Ulher of Seattle, Wash., Polly (Chuck) Kirk of Albuquerque, N.M., and Maria (Kenny) McGuire of Flagstaff; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prospero and Eloisa Aragon; three brothers, Ben, Nestor and LeRoy Aragon; her husband, Tomas Aragon; her husband, Andrew Ballejos; and her daughter, Lilly Sandoval.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
