For the 22nd year, the Arizona State Troopers Association (AZ Troopers) sponsored the annual Christmas Patrol Bear Program. State troopers and professional staff from the Arizona Department of Public Safety visited children in hospitals throughout the state in an effort to spread some Christmas cheer. Included in their schedule were stops on Tuesday at Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow and on Wednesday at Summit HealthCare Regional Medical Center in Show Low.
“This program allows our troopers and staff to spend a little time with kids that have to spend time away from home during Christmas time,” said Sgt. Jimmy Chavez, president of AZ Troopers. “We provide the kids with a stuffed animal, as well as spend time letting them all know that we will always be there to protect them and their families.”
