A public-private partnership will soon result in a new parking lot for Taylor Elementary School.
District III Navajo County Supervisor Jason Whiting offered his thanks to Taylor Mayor Fay Hatch for expressing concern about the safety and welfare of students at TES. Whiting had worked with Steve Reidhead of Tri Star Logging, Inc., before and contacted him to see if he could help with the problem.
Reidhead brought some of his equipment and crewmembers, and they shredded the trees on field. Town employees will remove the stumps. Thanks to the partnership of the Town of Taylor, the Snowflake Unified School District, Tri Star and Navajo County, this treed area will become a parking lot for TES.
“We appreciate the help,” said School Superintendent Hollis Merrell.
“It’s nice for everyone to come together. We needed parking and it’s getting done,” said TES Principal Jeremy Hatch.
“It’s neat to see issues come up and so many people come together to solve them,” said Taylor Town Manager Gus Lundberg.
