A Holbrook man is in jail after allegedly having sexual involvement in his workplace with an underage employee under his supervision. William Sanders, 24, was a shift manager at the Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Holbrook when law enforcement became aware of what was reportedly taking place and arrested him Jan. 5.
According to Detective Mario Parra of the Holbrook Police Department, Sanders admitted to having sexual relations with the 16-year-old girl during the afternoons inside the restaurant near the sinks and where cups were stored. Parra also stated that during the course of the investigation it was revealed that in order to avoid impregnating the girl, Sanders would ejaculate in the nearby sink.
The Navajo County Health Department did a visual inspection of the premises and reported no findings. Following that report, a warrant was served on the restaurant and a black light revealed body fluids in various locations in the kitchen and storage area.
An attempt was made to contact the Navajo County Health Department, as well as a representative from Carl’s Jr. Restaurants. As of press time, no response was received from either.
Sanders was booked into the Navajo County Jail on charges of sexual abuse, two counts of furnishing harmful items to a minor and nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
