The Bulldogs defeated the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets 66-62 Tuesday in Winslow in a hard fought game in which they trailed after the end of each of the first three quarters. The win improved Winslow’s record to 17-6 and dropped Blue Ridge’s to 7-15 for the season.
The Yellowjackets led 23-17 after the first quarter and 33-27 at the half. The margin was 48-42 after three quarters. The Bulldogs enjoyed a productive fourth quarter in which they outscored the Yellowjackets 24-14, turning a six-point deficit into a six-point win.
Nate Hollins led all scorers with 18 points for Winslow. Akeem Foster added 17 for the Bulldogs and Dalvin Benally scored 11.
Blue Ridge had four players in double figures led by McKay Berges with 16 points. Mason Berges added 13; and Corey Enfield and Darrien Burnette, 10 each.
The Bulldogs will take on the Scouts at 7 o’clock tonight (Jan. 29) in Window Rock. They will then go to Tuba City to meet the Warriors on Monday, Feb. 1, host Washington on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and end their regular season on Friday, Feb. 5, by hosting Chinle.
