The Winslow Arts Councils has begun a new program, Second Saturday, which kicks off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at D.J.’s Restaurant. Winslow Junior High School art teacher Christa Knox will exhibit some of her work, give demonstrations and perhaps offer some items for sale. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
The new program began with a planning session at D.J.’s in January. The programs will be held at the restaurant on the second Saturday of each month, and will feature the work of an artist or artists, who will display, explain and promote their art. Artists have asked to be presenters on the second Saturday of every month through August, and one is scheduled for November.
Arts Council members hope that this will be a good event for both artists and people interested in learning about art or purchasing art items. All are encouraged to attend the events.
