drug bust On Feb. 18, canine deputies from the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office located two separate drug loads crossing Interstate 40 near Holbrook.
The first load reportedly included 37 pounds of hydroponic marijuana with a street value of approximately $220,000 being transported by Cynthia A. Cobb, 54, of Spicewood, Texas.
Cobb was booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook for transportation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale.
Approximately 20 minutes later, a second canine handler stopped a vehicle with two occupants. Upon searching the vehicle, the deputy reportedly located approximately 61 bottles of THC syrup, 5.4 grams of methamphetamine and 5.6 pounds of marijuana.
The suspects were identified as Heather Loren Broshears and Nestor Amavizca Obregon. They were booked into the county jail. Both were charged with transportation of marijuana for sale, transportation of dangerous drugs for sale and transportation of a narcotic drug for sale. In addition, Broshears was charged with taking the identity of another.
