The Lobos of Snowflake played three relatively low scoring games last week and prevailed in two of the three outings.
On Tuesday, they traveled to Payson and came home with a 2-1 win. They were held scoreless until the final innings, where they tied then moved ahead of the Longhorns to get the win. Tyler Hansen pitched a gem on the hill, giving up just one run on two hits with 10 strikeouts and walked only one.
At the plate, Tyler Claridge went 1 for 2; JR Fox, 1 for 3 with a double and scored a run, Ty Pawlik, 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI and scored once; and JT Tate, 1 for 1 with an RBI.
On Wednesday, the Lobos returned home to host Maryvale, but fell 5-3 to the visitors. Snowflake led 3-2 through four innings, but gave up the lead in the later innings.
Claridge went 1 for 3 at the plate; Fox, 1 for 2 with a double, an RBI and scored once; Hansen, 2 for 4 with an RBI; Koy Kelley, 1 for 1; Jake Lyman, 1 for 3; Tate, 1 for 3 with an RBI and scored a run; and Wacey Wood, 1 for 2.
On the hill, Fox worked three innings, giving up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Lyman worked four innings, allowing three runs on three hits with four strikeouts and walked two.
Friday afternoon the Lobos played host to Fountain Hills and prevailed over the Falcons 2-0. Tarren Reidhead pitched a gem on the hill, giving up just one hit in seven innings of work. He notched six strikeouts and walked only one batter.
At the plate, Claridge went 2 for 3 with a double and scored once; Hansen, 1 for 4; Jake Steward, 1 for 4; and Tate, 1 for 3.
On Tuesday, March 22, the Lobos begin a three-game home stand when they host Window Rock. The next day Show Low makes a visit, then on Friday, March 25, the Lobos play host to Round Valley. Snowflake headed into spring break week with a 4-4 overall record.
