Lavoy Doyle Hancock, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at his home in Show Low, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (March 25) at the Show Low Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 N. 11th St., and will be preceded by a viewing at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
He was born March 23, 1939, in Taylor to Alfred Lavoy Hancock and Myrtle Willis Hancock.
Doyle loved to hunt, fish and spend time enjoying nature. His wife Cheryl was the love of his life, his soulmate. Together they traveled to more than 85 countries. He was proud to be a fifth generation native of Taylor. He loved his children and was very proud of them. He was generous to everyone. Doyle started Show Low Construction, Inc., in 1983 and it is still going strong.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; five children, Dirk (Danielle) Hancock, Sharee (Pete) Rebideaux, Melody Hancock, Cassie Hancock and Kaylyn Hancock; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy (Johnny) Penrod; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kievan Hancock; two sisters, Darlene and Judy; an infant brother, Gary; his parents; his first wife, Toni; and his second wife, Jimmie.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
