The Lady Lobos returned to the diamond from spring break with a pair of regular season wins over Morenci and Show Low last week. Prior to those two victories, the Snowflake squad went 5-1 at the Gracie Haught Tournament held in Payson with wins over Holbrook, Tempe Prep, Tempe, Fountain Hills and Estrella Foothills, and a loss to Apache Junction in the quarterfinal round.
Hosting Morenci on Tuesday, Snowflake cruised to a 12-2 win in just five innings. Tori Flake gave up just two runs on two hits with four strikeouts and walked two to earn the win in the circle.
At the plate for Snowflake, Breklee Tanner went 2 for 3 and scored twice. Eilee Penrod was 1 for 3 with a home run, three RBIs and scored twice. Madison Butler went 2 for 3 with two doubles, an RBI and scored twice. Flake was 1 for 3 with an RBI and scored twice. Hallie Bauer went 1 for 3 and scored a run. Bailey Standerfer was 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and scored once. Mikayla Hall and Shaelee Hensley each scored once.
The following day the Lobos welcomed in Show Low and sent the Cougars home with a similar result, a 12-2 loss in another five-inning effort.
Flake again earned the win in the circle, giving up two runs on only three hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Tanner went 1 for 4 at the plate, scoring twice. Butler was 2 for 2 with a home run, two RBIs and scored once. Flake helped her cause by going 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI and scored three runs. Hall was 2 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and scored once. Bauer was 2 for 2 with a double and scored once. Keltcee Hensley went 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs. Shaelee Hensley went 1 for 2 with an RBI and scored twice. Standerfer was 1 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs.
With the two wins, the Lobos improved to 6-1 in regular season games and 12-4-1 on the season, including tournament games. They will host Blue Ridge today (March 30), Wickenburg on Thursday, March 31, and Round Valley on Tuesday, April 5.
