Mar 302016

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Stanley S. Freeland passed into Heaven. Military honors were rendered and a memorial service was held March 12 in Holbrook.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Vicky (Quinton) Harmon of Williams and Ann Marie (Glen) Daughtery of Elyria, Ohio; his grandchildren, Danyel (Chris) Ferniza of Holbrook, Randy Turley of Holbrook, Jessica Olmstead of Innsbruck, Austria, and Andraya Olmstead and Evan Olmstead of Elyria; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mamie Davis of Holbrook; four sisters-in-law, Lisa Parsons, Cathy Travis, Judy Lindquist and Pat Freeland; several nieces and nephews who share in many memories of Stan; and many friends.
He was preceded in Heaven by his wife of 58 years, Patsy Lee Freeland; his beloved grandson, Damien Montoya; his brother, Melvin Freeland; his mother, Edna Freeland; and his father, Stanley S. Freeland Sr.
Stan was a veteran of the Korean War. He met and married Patsy while serving the Army. After living a short while at Fort Hood, Texas, they returned to Holbrook, where they made their home. To their life, Stan and Patsy welcomed two little girls, Vicky and Ann Marie.
He worked as a mechanic at Heward Motors all his life. Later on, he was a caretaker for OK RV and various properties. If Stan wasn’t working, he was fiddling around with several of his hobbies, from domestic and exotic animals as pets to jewelry making, (and he made some beautiful pieces), model airplane flying, hanging around a garage or out shootin’ one of his firearms, or probably his most favorite, fishing.
It’s hard to think of Stan without Patsy or Patsy without Stan. As much as we miss them, they are together now. Memories of life with them will always be with us. We love and miss you both.
