Elks Hoop Shoot Slated Saturday

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot contest will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hulet Elementary School in Holbrook.
   The Hoop Shoot will be open to all boys and girls from 8 to 13 years old as of April 1, 2008. Each par-ticipant will shoot 25 free throws against other boys and girls in their age groups. The age groups include 8 and 9 year olds, 10 and 11 year olds, and 12 and 13 year olds. Winners in each division will advance to the district competition in Flagstaff for an opportunity to advance to the state competition and ultimately to the national contest.
   Registration will be held from 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. on Dec. 8, followed by the contest at 9 a.m. Contestants must be registered before 9 a.m. to participate. Registration can be completed on Dec. 8, or registration forms can be picked up at the physical education departments at Hulet School, Indian Wells Elementary School or Holbrook Junior High School.
