Holbrook Grapplers Go 2-1 At Show Low Multiple Meet

   The Roadrunners picked up two easy wins and challenged the tough Show Low Cougars for a third win just prior to the Christmas break at the Show Low Multiple.
   Holbrook once again outdistanced Alchesay by a final of 60-16 in their dual, then took care of St. Johns by a closer margin of 48-26.
    Facing the host Cougars, the score went back and forth with each school holding leads until finally the Cougars were able to eek out a 42-36 win.
    “This final dual came down to just one pin. If we could have won just one more match along the way, we would have beaten the team that is expected to win the East and contend for a state title this year,” said Coach John Bokker.
   “We wrestled really well at times, and I think we will get a chance to see some of these teams again down the road. Christmas break has given us some time to work on some of our skills and get into better shape heading into January.”
