SCPAA Presents ‘A Night On Broadway’ Friday Night At Snowflake High SchoolMarch 12th, 2008
The Silver Creek Performing Arts Association will present “A Night on Broadway,” a concert featuring Aaron Ballard and Linsey Maxson, at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, in the Snowflake High School Auditorium. This will be the final event of the 2007-08 SCPAA season. Aaron Ballard is a native of Snowflake, and is proud to be back home performing for friends and family. A graduate of Arizona State University, Aaron has been performing as a vocalist and actor extensively over the last 10 years. Some of the notable roles he has played are Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” in Snowflake nearly 12 years ago and at MCC in 2001, Lt. Cable in “South Pa-cific,” a principal role in “Songs for a New World,” Percy in “The Scarlet Pimpernel” and Lt. Maynard in Rob Gardner’s world premier of “Blackbeard.” He also appeared in “He Is Jesus Christ,” “The Price of Freedom,” “Joseph Smith the Prophet,” and “Saints and Pioneers” by Rob Gardner. Aaron is also a member of NLightN, with whom he has performed extensively for the last six years. Aaron’s wife, Jenica, will ac-company the group. She has been playing piano professionally for 14 years. She has played for numerous choirs and shows throughout the Valley, as well as working for ASU, MCC, Arizona Theater Company and many others. Linsey Maxson teaches private voice lessons and directs two children’s musical theater performing groups. Together with her husband, Tyler, she directs a musical theater group for teens called “The Treble Makers.” Tyler recently won a Zonie Award for Best Lead Actor for The Scarlet Pimpernel at Hale Theater in Gilbert. He will also be performing. They can be found on many recordings, including Rob Gardner’s original cast recording of “The Price of Freedom” and “Blackbeard.” Linsey is the vocalist for Red Mountain Big Band, and also sings with the five-woman singing group, Divas of the Desert. Admission is by season ticket, or $6 for adults, $4 for students 18 and under, or $20 for a family.
