Holy Week Services Planned

March 19th, 2008


A Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper and the washing of feet will be held at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 212 E. Arizona St. in Holbrook, followed by an adoration until midnight.
       On Good Friday, March 21, an Ecumenical Tenebrae Service will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, and members of other congregations are invited to attend. At 7 p.m., a Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion will be held, including Holy Communion.
    “The Living Last Supper” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22, at the First Assembly of God, located at 500 Mission Lane in Holbrook. A reception will be held following each performance. Everyone is invited to attend the seventh annual presentation of this powerful story.
    On Holy Saturday, April 7, an Easter Vigil Mass will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
    An Easter Sunday Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on March 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for children. The regular 5 p.m. Sunday Mass will not be offered.
    Easter services are planned at most area churches during their regular service times. All are open to residents and visitors alike.
