Candidate Challenge Hearings SetJune 25th, 2008
By Linda Kor Now that candidates for federal, state and county offices have filed their nominating petitions, chal-lenges have been issued to some of them regarding the validity of their candidacy. On the county level, Richard C. Justman has challenged Evelyn M. Meadows’ candidacy for the posi-tion of county recorder, with a hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, June 27; and Brad Carlyon has challenged Christian Ackerley’s candidacy for the position of county attorney, with a hearing scheduled at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Both are public hearings and will be held in Navajo County Superior Court before Judge Robert Van Wyck of Phoenix. Stanford E. Lerch is challenging Jeffrey Brown’s candidacy for District 1 Congressman. The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in Maricopa County Superior Court before Judge Bethany Hicks.
