Northern Arizona Training Center Will Be Dedicated On October 11October 3rd, 2008
The Northern Arizona Training Center (NATC), located at 1840 W. Paper Mill Road in Taylor, will celebrate its grand opening and site dedication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the presence of local fire departments, law enforcement, elected officials and dignitaries. “The training center wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many of our local leaders and elected officials,” said NATC Board Chair John Cole. “We are looking forward to having this chance to thank them for their involvement.” The ceremony will include speakers from local law enforcement and fire departments. After the cere-mony will be fire safety demonstrations, including the barrel squirt, fire extinguisher demonstrations and vehicle extrication. “There will be a lot of interactive demonstrations for guests, as well,” said Taylor Fire Chief Clay Wood. “We’ve got a smoke trailer, a firearms training system, K-9 Unit demonstrations, a driving track, fatal vision goggles and a chance to work the fire hose.” Also immediately following the ceremony will be tours of the training facility classrooms, where safety videos will be shown, as well as tours of the burn tower, flash chamber and even the facility’s helicopter.
