Larson Waste Spotlighted For Its Contributions To SchoolsNovember 19th, 2008
By Naomi Hatch For many years, Larson Waste had the sanitation contract with the Snowflake School District. The firm was underbid by dollars for the 2007-08 contract, and when the school board wanted to seek bids the following year, TBS Waste officials protested that they had a five-year contract. Superintendent Monte Silk acknowledged Larson Waste at the Nov. 13 school board meeting, commenting that even though Larson did not have the contract the firm provided items for the Homecoming bon fire valued at $2,800 and then hauled it away. Silk also noted that Larson Waste also paid to feed the football team breakfast. “That’s pretty good, since he didn’t get the sanitation contract,” said Silk.
