Six fire departments from Navajo County benefited from an Emergency Response Grant that provides yearly funds for the Local Emergency Response Committee. This year these funds came to a total of $2,600, which was divided among those departments. Five of the departments chose to receive digital cameras in order to document any hazardous material scenes they may be dispatched to. Those fire departments are from Holbrook, Joseph City, Sun Valley, Snowflake and Taylor. The Pinedale-Clay Springs Fire Department requested that the funds be used to purchase more traffic cones with lights that could be used to block off dangerous areas and reroute traffic. On hand for the presentation were (left to right) Sheriff K.C. Clark, Joseph City Fire Chief Rusty DeSpain, Holbrook Fire Chief Alex Baker, Emergency Management Director Tim Zaremba, Snowflake Fire Chief Pat Hancock and Pinedale-Clay Springs Fire Chief Bob Garvin. Sun Valley Fire Chief Jeff Lineberry and Taylor Fire Chief Clay Wood were unable to attend.
