I-40 Closed AgainApril 29th, 2009
Photo by David Hall A stretch of Interstate 40 between Flagstaff and Winslow was closed last Saturday afternoon due to high winds and blowing dust, marking at least the fifth time such a closure has been necessary this month. The interstate was closed from Two Guns to Winslow, eastbound and westbound. This photo was taken in the area of Twin Arrows after the westbound lanes were reopened. Eastbound I-40 remained closed for another two hours as crews cleaned up the debris from an accident just west of Winslow involving up to five tractor-trailer rigs.
