Joseph City Man Dies In Accident

May 6th, 2009

A collision on Tuesday, April 28, on Interstate 40 near milepost 212 east of Flagstaff took the life of a Joseph City man.
Larry H. Billie, 46, was traveling west on I-40 at approximately 10:19 p.m. last Wednesday when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go off the roadway into the median and onto the eastbound lanes of travel.
Billie’s vehicle, a 1997 Oldsmobile four-door passenger vehicle, drove head-on into a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Luis Pineda, 30, of Canoga Park, Calif., which was traveling in the eastbound lanes.
Billie was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
Neither Pineda nor his passenger, Arturo Cuatro, 51, of Reseda, Calif., reported any injuries.
