Officials of the Snowflake School District and the Snowflake Fire Department met in November 2008 to discuss organizing an emergency response drill.  Fire Chief Pat Hancock noted that the Snowflake High School Student Council met with SFD officials in March after putting together a program. The students noted that prom was coming and they didn’t want anyone hurt or injured. They organized the drill to show students that it takes a lot of work when somebody does something bad such as get behind the wheel drunk.  Also participating in the drill were members of the Taylor Fire Department and the Taylor-Snowflake Ambulance. “The Student Council really stepped up to put this together. They did a lot of work,” said Chief Hancock. “It wasn’t a training for us, but we learned a few things ourselves about how we can do things better.”
