Snowflake Town Council Approves Tentative Budget

June 17th, 2009

By Naomi Hatch
The Snowflake Town Council unanimously approved an $8,967,593 tentative budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 on June 9, a decrease of $2,624,396 from this year’s budget.
Finance Director Brian Richards explained that changes can be made to the budget within the expenditure limit after the tentative budget is passed, but increased expenditures would require a declaration of an emergency by the council.
The council also unanimously approved signing an engagement letter with Darlene Wood, CPA, who has been the town’s auditor for the last seven years.  Her proposed cost for services is $11,000, which is $500 over the previous year.
