Greg Hudson, executive director of the Snowflake-Taylor Chamber of Commerce, was present at the Snowflake and Taylor town council meetings last week to invite each council member to attend the third annual Business Awards Banquet scheduled on Friday, Aug. 14.
“The banquet is to recognize businesses in Snowflake and Taylor that have done a great job in the area,” said Hudson.
He explained that each member of the chamber received a nomination form with 10 categories, and was asked to write in a business that should be honored.  The top three businesses were nominated, and chamber members now have the opportunity to vote on who should receive the awards.
Nominees are: Retail, Ace Hardware, Pro Build and The White Chair; Professional Services, Hancock-Leavitt Insurance, State Farm Insurance and Wells Fargo Bank; Food and Lodging, Celebrations Unlimited, He Brews Cafe, and Osmer D Inn Bed & Breakfast; Manufacturer, Hatch Construction, Van Horn-Smith Construction and Winners Circle Soil Products Inc; Contractor, D.W. Lusk Contracting, Hatch Construction and Kay Supply; Non-Profit Organization, Snowflake Academy Foundation, Snowflake/Taylor Lions Club and United Food Bank of Snowflake/Taylor; Large Employer, Hospice Compassus, PFFJ and Snowflake School District; and Small Employer, Carriage House, Farr Plumbing and Golden Key Auto.
Nominees for Business Woman of the Year are Pamela Sutter/Sutterpride Pets, Patti Matyas/Carriage House and Naomi Hatch/Silver Creek Herald.
Nominees for Business Man of the Year are Bob Moffett/Hospice Compassus, Jason Whiting/Mahoney Group and Paul Watson/Town of Snowflake.
“You have some employees and fellow council members nominated, and we hope you will support them, said Hudson to the Snowflake Council.”
To the Taylor Town Council he commented, “I hope the Town of Taylor will look into attending this event as we award our businesses for doing a great job in both communities.”
Anyone interested in attending the banquet can call the chamber at 536-4331 for reservations.
