Eleven Contestants To Vie For Two Titles In Pageant Friday

    The Miss Navajo County and Miss White Mountains Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Show Low Auditorium. Each winner will compete in the Miss Arizona Pageant in June.
     Eleven young women will vie for the titles. Information on each follows.
    Tessa Allen of Taylor will play the piano as her talent. Her platform is “Self Worth.”
    Kaella Boyer of Show Low will also play the piano as her talent. Her platform is “Drop Out of High School Equals Drop Out of Life.”
    Aubreauna Crandell of Show Low will give a vocal performance as her talent. Her platform is “Strengthening Family Relationships and Changing the World.”
    Lindsey Earl of Lakeside will also give a vocal performance as her talent. Her platform is “Positive Role Models for Girls.”    
    Brandy Hatch of Taylor will play the viola for her talent. Her platform is “Dare to Dream Through Higher Education.”
    Alysia Martinez of Pinetop will dance as her talent. Her platform is “The Importance of Donating Blood.
    Sarah McCleve of Snowflake will give a vocal performance as her talent. Her platform is “Modesty.”
    Emily Mercer of Taylor will also give a vocal performance as her talent. Her platform is “A Person’s a Person No Matter How Small: Pro Life.”
    Hali Merrill of Show Low will play the piano as her talent. Her platform is “Stopping Over the Troll Stricken Bridge: Bullying.”
    Erica Tenney of Taylor will play the violin as her talent. Her platform is “Reaching Your Full Poten-tial.”
    Shannon Willis of Taylor will give a vocal performance as her talent. Her platform is “Meth: Stop It Before They’re Born.”
    Greg Hudson and Scott Backes will emcee the event, which will feature appearances by reigning Miss Navajo County Britney Kay and Miss Arizona Savannah Troupe.
    Tickets are $7 for adults, and $4 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Chambers of Commerce in Snowflake/Taylor, Show Low and Pinetop/Lakeside. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door. The lobby doors will open at 6 o’clock Friday night, and the auditorium doors at 6:30. There will be a silent auction in the lobby to benefit the pageant.
    The Miss Navajo County and Miss White Mountains Pageant is part of the Miss America Scholarship Organization.
