Winslow School District Override Election Slated

    A special budget override election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, for voters in the Winslow School District. The district is seeking to increase the maintenance and operation budget by $1,008,279, not to exceed 10 percent of the revenue control limit.
    The increase is to be in effect for seven years, and would be funded by a secondary tax rate.
    The last day to register to vote in this election is Monday, Oct. 5.
    Early ballots may be requested verbally or in writing from the Navajo County Recorder’s Office any time through 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, by mail at P.O. Box 668, Holbrook, Ariz. 86025, or by calling (928) 524-4192. Early ballots must be returned to the Election Services office or polling place on or before 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.
    Polling places will include: Winslow Precincts 1-5, Winslow Fire Station at 215 Taylor Ave.; Dilkon, Dilkon Chapter House; Teesto Precinct No. 1, Teesto Chapter House; and Birdsprings, Little Singer School.
