Golf Course Road To Be Closed Nov. 10October 28th, 2009
Photo by Linda Kor The Hidden Cove Golf Course and the road leading to it will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 10, thanks to this precarious rock near the entrance to the course. According to Tim Kelley, the City of Holbrook’s interim public works director, employees at the course noticed that the base of the large rock has been wearing away substantially over the past few years and it was decided to remove a potential hazard. “It’s only a matter of time before that rock comes sliding down and the way it’s situated, there’s a possibility it could land right in the road,” stated Kelley. Public works employees, along with members of the Holbrook Fire Department, plan to apply high pressured water to the base of the rock and allow it to slide down the hill, then use a loader to transport the rock to the other side of the road.
