The terms of Mayor Robin Boyd, Councilman Harold Soehner, and Councilwomen Judy Howell and Marsha Jergensen will be up for election. Each has filed papers for re-election. Other candidates who had filed as of Friday, Dec. 4, included Jim Weldon, who is seeking election as mayor, and Rudy Montoya, Curtis Hardy and Katherine Conner-Contreras, who are seeking election to the council.
It will be reported in Friday’s edition of the newspaper whether the March 9 primary election will be held or canceled due to the number of candidates. The general election will be held on May 18.
