Lady Roadrunners Fall To SnowflakeMarch 6th, 2008
By Greg Perkins The Lady Roadrunners of Holbrook struggled mightily against the Lady Lobos Feb. 27. Playing on the road, the Lady Birds had a difficult time trying to solve the pitches that came from Snowflake starter Shaylee Yellowhair. Holbrook managed to collect just one hit throughout the game and failed to score a run. Starting pitcher Rietta Wagoner took the loss, but pitched well through four innings. Snowflake slowly built its lead with one run in the first, then added two in the third. At that point the game was still in reach for the Lady Birds had they been able to get their bats working, but of the 22 batters who went to the plate, 15 struck out against Yellowhair. “This certainly wasn't a good game for us. We have a lot of areas where we need to improve if we want to make some noise in the 3A North," said Coach Monty Flack. They are scheduled to host Round Valley on Tuesday, March 11. Their first 3A North game will be on Friday, April 4, when they host Window Rock.
