Lady Cats Continue Winning Ways With Two Victories Over Ash ForkApril 15th, 2008
By Greg Perkins Joseph City’s Lady Wildcats continue to string together impressive wins, including sweeping a double-header on the road at Ash Fork last Friday. In the first game of the twin bill the Lady Cats had another outstanding performance from Ivorie Coch-ran, who pitched a no hitter in the 18-0 shutout. Along with dominant pitching, the Lady Wildcats were just as stout at the plate, pounding out 16 total hits. Tahlissa Blosser went three for four with two doubles and a triple. Shelby Fish, Morgan McLaughlin, Brianna Massey, Chante Cline and Cassie Pugh each had two hits. Cochran, Megan Poudrier and Krsitjana Carlisle each had one hit in the game. In the second game the Lady Wildcats won by an even bigger margin, although they did give up four runs in the 25-4 victory. Poudrier and Sammi Perry combined for the win in the circle, and the team really swung the bat well, picking up 25 hits in the game. McLaughlin went five for five with three singles, one double and an over the fence home run, and brought in five RBIs. Cline went two for two with a single, a double and an RBI. Blosser went four for five with three singles, including an over the fence home run and four RBIs. Cochran was three for four with two doubles and three RBIs. Perry singled and doubled, and brought in four RBIs. Shealynn Hill also sin-gled and doubled. Jaci Penrod and Massey both had singles and picked up two RBIs. Amber Sorgen picked up an RBI double. Poudrier picked up a hit with an RBI, as did Ashley Bushman. The Lady Wildcats headed into their home game with Mogollon on Tuesday with an overall mark of 15-4-1. After playing at Williams on Thursday, they will host Ganado today (April 11).
