SHS Track Teams Take Third At Winslow Invitational Meet

    In their final preparations for the 3A East Regional coming up this weekend, both Snowflake track teams placed third at the Winslow Invitational meet held last Friday.  
    In the boys’ division, Blue Ridge placed first with 128 points, followed by Winslow with 73, Snow-flake, 71.5, Show Low, 65, and Mingus, 54.  
    In the girls’ division, Blue Ridge again placed first with 105 points, followed by Coconino with 75.5, Snowflake with 65, and Flagstaff and Page tied for fourth place with 53 points each.

    In the 100 meter dash, Matt Reidhead returned to action and returned to the top spot, placing first with a time of 10.97; and Jacob Juarez, 20th in 12.42.
    In the 200 meter dash, Reidhead placed second in 22.65; Jesse Diaz, sixth in 24.12; and Jacob Juarez, 11th in 25.24.
    In the 400 meter dash, Matt Reidhead placed first with a time of 50.17.
    In the 800 meter run, Cody Wells placed first with a time of 1:59; James McDowell, 16th in 2:16; and Rolley Burton, 26th in 2:34.
    In the 1600 meter run, Cody Wells placed first with a  time of 4:28.  
    In the 3200 meter run, Andy Chelsey placed 27th with a time of 14:19.  
    In the 300 meter hurdles, Jeff Sanderson placed fourth with a time of 41.29; Matt Bloomfield, 18th in 45.91; and Jacob Rawlins, 24th in 47.17.   
    In the 110 meter hurdles, Jacob Rawlins placed ninth with a time of 17.07; Matt Bloomfield, 13th in 17.52; and Jeff Sanderson, 14th in 17.88.
    In the relay races, the Lobos placed sixth in the 4x100 meter with a time of 46.60, seventh in the 4x400 meter with a time of 3:41 and 12th in the 4x800 meter with a time of 9:44.
    In the high jump, Jeff Sanderson placed seventh, clearing 6’; and Michael Bishop, ninth with 5’10”.
    In the pole vault, Justin Ford placed 13th with 9’6”.
    In the long jump, Damien Scott placed eighth with a distance of 18’1”; Michael Bishop, 14th with 16’8”; and Jesse Diaz, 15th with 16’7”.
    In the triple jump, Jacob Juarez was 14th with a jump of 34’11”; and Michael Bishop, 16th with 34’9”.
    In the shot put, Jordan Hunt placed seventh with a distance of 43’2”; AJ Rodriguez, ninth with 40’8”; and Jason McCray, 14th with 39’.  
    In the discus, AJ Rodriguez placed third with throw of 125’5”; and Jordan Hunt, 23rd with 101’5”.

    In the 100 meter dash, Tessa Allen placed sixth with a time of 13.56; Hillary Gutvik, 23rd in 14.58; and Tiffany Richards, 28th in 14.78.  
    In the 200 meter dash, Tessa Allen placed fifth with a time of 27.60; Samarah Houser, eighth in 28.65; and Katherine Dutcher, 35th in 30.87.
    In the 400 meter dash, Hillary Gutvik placed 15th with a time of 1:07; and Claudia Schuermann, 20th in 1:08.
    In the 800 meter run, Natasha Spader placed 27th with a time of 2:53.  
    In the 1600 meter run, Laura Boone placed 14th with a time of 6:15.
    In the 300 meter hurdles, Arona Spader placed first with a time of 45.66; Samarah Houser, fourth in 51.72; and Katherine Dutcher, 11th in 53.86.     
    In the 100 meter hurdles, Arona Spader placed first with a time of 15.81; Tessa Allen, sixth in 17.52; and Tiffany Richards, seventh in 17.67.
    In the relays, the Lady Lobos placed sixth in the 4x100 meter with a time of 54.60, second in the 4x400 with a time of 4:12 and 10th in the 4x800 meter with a time of 11:55.
    In the high jump, Arona Spader placed second with a jump of 5’4”; and Kim Johnson, fourth with 5’.  
    In the long jump, Kelsey Livingston placed sixth with a distance of 13’8”; Kim Johnson, ninth with 12’10”; and Claudia Schuermann, 15th with 12’5”.  
    In the triple jump, Kelsey Livingston was 14th with a distance of 28’3”; Hailey Hatch, 16th with 27’9”; and Kim Johnson, 17th with 27’8”.
    Both squads will be trying to qualify for the state meet at the 3A East Regional, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, at Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside.
