Roadrunner Harriers Take Third At Winslow Meet

    Joining six other teams at the Winslow Invitational cross country meet on Friday, Holbrook placed third in the boys’ division and fifth in the girls’ division.  
    Hopi took the team title in the boys’ division with 26 points.  Many Farms placed second with 62, fol-lowed by Holbrook with 83, Alchesay with 104, Valley Sanders with 127 and Snowflake with 131.
    Adrian Thomas was the top Holbrook finisher, placing 12th with a time of 18.14. Dakota Lester placed 13th in 18.16; Tate Kaliseoma, 18th in 18.38; Jackie Frank, 19th in 18.42; Michael Kinlicheenie, 21st in 19.00; Clint Alex, 23rd in 19.18; and Melcomh Chee, 29th place in 19.44.  
    In the junior varsity race, Maurice Joe placed ninth overall with a time of 19.59.  Terrence Tsosie was 15th, Cody Yellowhair, 16th; Jimrail Manygoats, 17th; Tatton Long, 18th; Miles Begay, 20th; Brandon Yazzie, 21st; and Phillip Curtis, 22nd.
    Hopi also won the girls’ team title with 42 points.  Alchesay was second with 66 followed by Winslow with 81, Payson, 86, Holbrook, 101, and Show Low, 150 points.
    ReAnna Chee paced the Holbrook girls, placing fourth with a time of 21.44.  Nycole Mitchell was 14th in 23.13; Tamisha Yazzie, 24th in 24.58; Chantelle Gaddy, 29th in 25.54; Shannen Jones, 30th in 26.00; Andrell Williams, 36th in 27.08; and Shaunacy Little, 37th in 28.04.
    On Friday, Oct. 10, the teams will run at the Alchesay Invitational meet in Whiteriver, beginning at 1 p.m.  They will then have a week off to prepare for the Tuba City Invitational meet slated on Oct. 17.
