JCHS Wrestling Tourney Scheduled This Weekend

Joseph City High School will host its 37th annual wrestling tournament on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9 and 10. The tourney is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday.
    Eighteen Arizona and New Mexico high schools will be represented at the tournament, including Ante-lope, Bourgade, Bradshaw Mountain, Cactus Shadows, Chino Valley, Desert Edge, Flagstaff, Ft. Wingate, Joseph City, Kingman, Lake Havasu, Many Farms, Mogollon, Mohave, Pima, Valley Lutheran, Valley Sanders and Verrado.
    Session two will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and the Gold Medal Championship Round will be held at 3:30 p.m.
    Each team will wrestle seven dual meets over the course of the first two sessions. At the close of the second session, a short seeding meeting will be held to determine the top six wrestlers in each weight class who will wrestle in the championship round for medals. Finalists will be determined by their record during the dual meet portion of the tourney.
    Admission is $5 per session. JCHS activity cards and Arizona Interscholastic Association passes will be accepted.
