The Lobos split the two games they played during spring break, picking up a second straight region win over Alchesay last Thursday, before dropping a one-run road loss at Holbrook Friday afternoon.
Playing in Whiteriver on Thursday, Snowflake started slowly with just one run in the top of the first inning, but in the second the Lobos exploded for seven runs to take control of the game. They followed four more runs in the third with another seven-run inning in the fourth to finish their scoring at 19 runs.  The Falcons finally scored just one run in the bottom of the fifth, but it wasn’t nearly enough to avoid the 10-run rule.
Alchesay had just two hits and made eight errors.
Snowflake connected for 23 hits in the game and made two errors.
Tarrin Tanner started the game on the hill for Snowflake and picked up the win with three innings of hitless pitching. He struck out three and also walked three. Cody Hoopes worked the final two innings, giving up one earned run on two hits with three strike outs and three walks.
At the plate several Lobo hitters had a good day. Kyle Larson went one for two with a sacrifice, two RBIs and a run scored. Trevor Reddick went four for four with a triple and three RBIs, and scored three runs. Travis Reddick was also four for four with four RBIs and scored three runs. Shawn Walker went  one for two with an RBI, a run scored and a sacrifice.  Chase Jones was two for three and scored twice. Robby Martindale went three for three with a triple and three RBIs, and scored twice. Hoopes went three for five with three RBIs and scored twice. Tanner was three for four with an RBI.  Blake Peterson went two for three with a double, two runs scored and collected two RBIs.

On Friday the Lobos ventured north to take on the Roadrunners in a non-region contest at Holbrook.  Playing in breezy conditions the Lobos gave up three runs in the bottom of the first inning, then spent the next five innings trying to play catch up. Holbrook added another run in the third inning and led by four runs in the top of the fourth. The Snowflake squad finally picked up its first run of the game in the fourth, but gave it right back in the home half of the inning and still trailed by four.
In the fifth the Lobos were able to trim one run off the lead, then pulled within one after scoring two runs in the top of the sixth inning.  They were finally able to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning at five apiece.  But in the bottom of the seventh, the Roadrunners who had won just one game all season, were able to push one run across and take down the Lobos by a final of 6-5.
Martindale started the game on the hill for Snowflake and worked five innings, giving up five runs, just three earned, on seven hits with four strike outs and five walks.  Josh Pawlik came on in for the final two innings and gave up one earned run on three hits.
