SHS Golfers Take Second At Mount Graham CourseMay 6th, 2009
By Greg Perkins Competing against 15 other schools in a two-day, 27-hole competition played at April 24 and 25 at the Mount Graham Golf Course in Thatcher, Snowflake golfers fared well. Safford won the team title posting a team score of 465 strokes. The Lobos placed second with 484 followed by Desert Christian with 490, Payson, 492, Benson, 503, Winslow, 508, Blue Ridge, 516, and Holbrook, 552. Snowflake was led by Parker McDonald, who posted a two-day total of 115, just nine shots behind overall winner Joe Ryan of Benson. Nick Routhier posted a 118 for the Lobos, Tobias Weihe, 119, Jacob Boone, 132, and Michael Peterson, 141. Ryan Huffman and Jesse Hunter, both of Safford, placed second and third with a 109 and a 112, respectively.
