Roadrunner Golfers Qualify For State

    The Holbrook Roadrunners placed fourth at the 3A East/North Region Golf Tournament played May 4 and 5, earning a trip to the state tournament held early this week on a course near Florence.
    The Snowflake Lobos easily won the regional tourney with a two-day total of 596 over the 36-hole event. Payson placed second with 680, followed by Blue Ridge with 694 and Holbrook, 713, Show Low, 716 and Winslow, 723.
    Kyle Jones of Snowflake was the top medalist, shooting a two-day total of 138.
    Holbrook was led by Kory Koerperich and Random Skevington, who each shot a two-day total of 173. Quayla Skevington posted a 181, Ryan Best shot 186, AJ Larsen, 210, and Cody Hanley, 239.
