Winslow High School will be represented in the Arizona High School Senior All Star Baseball and Softball games this year by players with the last name of Guzman.
Roman Guzman will be a member of the North team playing on Saturday, June 6, at Surprise. He was a pitcher and first baseman for the Bulldogs.
Mariah Guzman will be playing in the softball game at Show Low on Friday, June 26. She was the center fielder for the Lady Bulldogs. Fans may remember her for one of the most exciting and timely catches of the state softball tournament when she robbed a Blue Ridge player of a sure home run and turned it into a double play.
The Guzmans are related, as their fathers are first cousins. Roman is the son of Alfred and Linda Guzman. Mariah is the daughter of Al and Margaret Guzman.
Winslow will also be represented at the softball game by the presence of Coach Becky Barris, who will join Blue Ridge Coach Chris Fraze in piloting the North squad.
