Martindale Tapped For All State Second Team

    Snowflake’s Robbie Martindale, an outfielder, was named to the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association 3A All State Second Team in a vote of the coaches.
    The Coach of the Year was David Lopez of Globe, with Brady Wager of Globe as the Player of the Year. Fountain Hills was the Field of the Year and Safford was the Most Improved Field.
    First team selections included shortstop Anthony Huerta and designated hitter Ty Hancock of Winslow, catcher Ridge Halenar of Payson, first baseman Dallas Mills of Wickenburg, second baseman Clay Hathaway of Show Low, third baseman Billy Kidd of Globe, outfielders Justin Angel of Chino Valley, Dustin Simmons of Blue Ridge and Weston Gibson of Payson, and utility player Gabe Valtierra of Globe. Pitchers were Will Pennington of Chino Valley and Ty Webster of Blue Ridge.
    Other second team players were catcher Levi Smith of Winslow, first baseman Michael DeGrote of Fountain Hills, second baseman Nick Johnson of Blue Ridge, shortstop Wade Parker of Chino Valley, third baseman Sheldon Murphy of Wickenburg, outfielders Steffen Walden of Safford and Josh Eldon of Empire, designated hitter Nathan Zavos of Chino Valley, utility player Vince Buzan of Globe, and pitchers Jake Trout of Fountain Hills and Andrew Bailey of Chino Valley.
