SHS Golf Team Honored

Members of the Snowflake High School golf team were honored as the 3A state champions at the May 26 Snowflake Town Council meeting. The Lobos have earned the state title for two years in a row, and took first, second, fourth and fifth places individually this year. The team includes (front row, left to right) Coach Steve Schneider, Kyle Jones, who took first place and tied the individual state record, Michael Peterson, who played on the junior varsity and varsity teams, Jordan Henderson, who took fifth place, Parker McDonald, who took fourth place, Nick Routhier, who took 14th place, and (not pictured) Tobias Weihe, an exchange student from Germany who took second place.  Saluting the young golfers are (back row) Vice Mayor Kerry Ballard, Councilwoman Lorri Davis, Councilman Dean Porter, Mayor Kelly Willis, Councilwoman Sharon Tate, and Councilmen Jason Whiting and Chris Brimhall.
