Lady Birds Make Easy Work Of Show Low Lady Cougars

    The Holbrook Lady Roadrunners moved to 2-0 on the young volleyball season after easily taking down the Lady Cougars last Thursday evening.
    Playing in Show Low, Holbrook won the first game, 25-14, the second, 25-17, and ended the match with a 25-22 win in the third game.
    Through the three matches Rietta Wagoner led the team in kills with 11, followed by Sheria Billie and Mallory Martin with nine each; Amanda Chee, eight; April Lester, four; and Samantha Yazzie, one. Yazzie had 17 assists; Chee, 16; Chelsea John, three; Kellin Bakurza, two; and Wagoner and Sheria Billie, one each.
    Defensively, Wagoner led the way with eight digs, followed by Yazzie and Chee with seven each; Martin, six; Lester, five; Sheria Billie and Danielle Tapaha, four each; and Aaren Billie and Kellin Bakurza, one each.
    Wagoner served two aces, while Sheria Billie, Martin, Yazzie and Chee each had one.
    After playing at Coconino on Tuesday, the Lady Roadrunners will be busy at the Payson Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4 and 5.
