Lobos Take Seventh At Alchesay Invitational

    Competing at the 10-team Alchesay Invitational meet held Oct. 9 in Whiteriver, the Lobos placed seventh in the boys’ team competition with 184 team points. Many Farms won the team title, scoring just 19 points.  Blue Ridge followed in second with 73 and Holbrook was third with 93. There were 57 runners in the 3.1 mile race.
    Noah Flake led the Lobos with a 29th place finish in 20:44. Laitham Hunt was 33rd in 20:54; Levi Flake, 35th in 21:14; Joel Coy, 37th in 21:37; Chad Merrill, 50th in 23:26; and Lance Merrill placed 54th with a time of 24:45.  
    In the girls’ varsity race, Snowflake had just one competitor, Alisha Flake, who placed 14th in the 51-runner field with a time of 25:01.  Hopi won the team title with 30 points, followed by Payson with 71 and Valley Sanders with 77.   
    Snowflake’s Dezirae Burden placed 17th in the open division race with a time of 34:49.
