Lady Wildcats Earn Wins Over Mogollon And Northland PrepOctober 21st, 2009
By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats of Joseph City joined their football counterparts last Friday with a big win over Mogollon. Playing in Heber they won the first game 25-22, dropped the second 25-20, but bounced back to win game three 25-20 then closed out the match with a 25-14 win in game four. Shelby Fish finished with two aces, a block, 31 assists and 14 digs. Alyssa Dixon had a dig. Sammi Perry added seven kills, two aces and 13 digs. Tori Mosier had 14 kills, five aces, an assist and 12 digs. Linsey Wouters had 11 kills, two aces, a block, an assist and six digs. Natalie Griffith had a kill, an ace, a block and nine digs. Jaci Penrod served an ace and had 20 digs. Mackenzie Fields had three kills and six digs. Kaylee Pugh had a dig. The Lady the Wildcats avoided a letdown the following day as they picked up their ninth straight region win, taking three games in a row at Northland Prep in Flgstaff, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-20. Fish served seven aces, and had a block, 19 assists and two digs. Perry hit three kills, served an ace and had three digs. Mosier had six kills, a block and nine digs. Wouters had five kills, five aces and four digs. Pugh had three kills. Lexi Edwards had a kill, an ace, three assists and a dig. Griffith had a kill, an ace and three digs. Penrod served an ace and had 14 digs. Fields had seven kills, a block and two digs. The Lady Wildcats headed into their final week of the regular season with a 29-9-1 overall record. They are 9-0 in league play. After hosting St. Michaels on Tuesday night, they will conclude the regular season on the road at White Cone on Saturday, Oct. 24.
