Lobos Fall To PCD In State Soccer Tourney

    Snowflake earned a trip to the 1A-3A State Soccer Tournament as the second seed from the East region and picked up a win in the opening round, where the Lobos took care of the third seed from the West region, Chino Valley, winning the match 2-1 over the Cougars last Friday afternoon.
    With that win they advanced to the quarterfinal round on Saturday, where they played hard but saw their season come to a close with a 2-1 overtime loss to Phoenix Country Day, the top seed from the Metro region.
    Joining Phoenix Country Day in the final four will be Willcox, Blue Ridge and Desert Christian.
    The Lobos finished the season with an overall mark of 9-3, including 6-2 in conference play. They finished in second place in the East region behind Blue Ridge.
