Cheetahs Win Monster Mash Qualifier

    The Arizona Cheetahs softball team won the USSSA Monster Mash Qualifier held Oct. 17 and 18 at the Big League Dreams Fields in Gilbert, the squad’s first 16 and under tournament. The Cheetahs squad is made up of young athletes from Winslow and Joseph City.
    To win the crown, the Cheetahs defeated the Scottsdale Desert Wolves, 2-0, and Glendale Pure Adrena-line, 8-1, then lost to Glendale Desert Kaos, 4-3, before posting wins over the Queen Creek Lady Cats, 9-3, Chandler Nemesis, 2-1, and the Scottsdale Desert Wolves, 10-2.
    The Cheetahs placed third in the ASA Casa Grande Heat Invite, first in the GoldenGlove TCS Champs and March Madness, third in the ASA Spring Challenge, and were OKC Bracket Play champions, TCS Cool Country runners-up, ASA Best of the West champions, USSSA Big League Dream champions and White Mountain League champions.
