Region’s Top Football Honors Go To Shirley And Hancock

    The Winslow Bulldogs fared very well in the 3A North All Conference football listings.
    Bulldog Kraig Shirley was named Offensive Player of the Year, while his teammate Ty Hancock was named Defensive Player of the Year.  Their coach, Rusty Robertson, was named the Coach of the Year.
    Joining Shirley on the first team offense were teammates Chayse Russell, Ty Hancock, Tevin Renfro and Anthony Huerta.  Holbrook placed two players on the list, Cody Goklish and Ilacian Johnson.  Michael Williams and Jon Delmar, both of Monument Valley, Travis James of Ganado, Zach Curley of Tuba City, Alex Brown of Chinle and Josh Pablo of Window Rock made up the rest of the team.
    Honorable mention offensive selections were AJ Aragon and Trent Holmes, both of Holbrook; Wendell Carter and Levi Smith, both of Winslow; Christian Todacheenie and Marcus Begay, both of Ganado; Nathan James and Zach Begay, both of Chinle; Ty Wauneka and Bryan Sampson, both of Window Rock; and Shayne Begay and Alan Todachine, both of Monument Valley.
    Joining Hancock on the all region defensive team were Tevin Renfro, Wendell Carter, Kraig Shirley and Eric Sadler, all of Winslow; Tony Begay, Marcus Castillo and Robert Jager, all of Holbrook; Dakota Kaye and Cody Begay, both of Monument Valley; Dwight Bia of Ganado; Derek Natonabah of Window Rock; and Lethaniel Roanhorse of Tuba City.
    Honorable mention defensive players were Ryan Baldonado and Caleb Layden, both of Holbrook; Rhett Hardy and Jevon Estella, both of Winslow; Jayson Bayal and Ty Torivio, both of Ganado; Jeffrey Begay and Loren Nez, both of Tuba City; Kalani Simeona and Nathan Jones, both of Chinle; Jared Brown and Shelby Tulley, both of Window Rock; and Kameron Isaac and Devon Joe, both of Monument Valley.
